Available as inward opening tilt & turn or outward opening fully reversible windows, these timber windows use engineered oak frames and have been tested to achieve fire resistance standard EI45, meaning they prevent the passage of flames, fume, toxic gases, radiant heat, and temperature completely for a period of 45 minutes. Suitable for use in any buildings where fire resistance is required to achieve building regulations compliance but where a timber window is preferred vs aluminium.
We converted a derelict barn in Suffolk and were fortunate enough to be put in contact with Ben Nickell from GreenSteps for our windows. It was clear as soon as we met Ben that he understood what we wanted, not only the look that we were trying to achieve but also the quality. His knowledge was invaluable. GreenSteps helped us decide on colour matches so that the external colour would sit well with the cladding finish as well the internal colour that went with the walls, they also took their time in measuring up for a perfect fit. We went with a triple glazed unit with aluminium trim on the weather facing parts to reduce maintenance and prolong the lifespan of the window. The windows turned up on time and were installed within the day. The finish is excellent in every aspect and far surpassed our expectations. Ben went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the product, always at the end of the phone to answer our questions. I would highly recommend!
